Sidi Salem formation (Middle miocene) The lower limit of this formation is not known in the central part of the Nile Delta where it overlies the Moghra Formation to the west and south. Sidi Salem Formation is composed mainly of mudstone with interbeds of marls, sandstones and siltstones.
